PART I: BASIC INFORMATION 1. What is the name of the character for which you are applying for gold? 2. At what email address can we contact you? 3. Do you currently play a rider of a bronze dragon on PernWorld? If so, is this character already Weyrleader or likely to become so? Current riders of gold dragons are NOT eligible to apply at this time. 4. A gold egg, if we elect to have one, will probably be obviously so. However, this egg is not guaranteed to Impress to a PC--it may Impress to an NPC if we feel we have no applicants who would be a good fit for our Weyr. There is also no guarantee that we will have a gold at all. By selecting 'I agree' below, you agree that you understand this and are still interested in applying. 5. We may Search gold applicants who we do not feel are necessarily appropriate for gold, if they have a second choice color or if we believe further observation might change our minds. Please select whether you prefer to be Searched in either case, you prefer only to be Searched if we consider you a strong prospect, or you will be transferring your Candidacy. PART II: QUALIFICATIONS 1. How much experience do you have with leadership on MU*s, Pern-themed or otherwise? 2. What do you imagine doing with yourself after Weyrlinghood, and what skills do you have that would help in those projects? 3. Why are you applying primarily for gold instead of a chromatic? 4. Why do you think you would be the best choice for this gold Impression? PART III: SITUATIONS Feel free to make up reasonable other details related to these questions if you feel they are necessary to your decision making process and that you would be able to discover those facts in that situation. If you have doubts about what's reasonable, just page Hassaleah to ask. The answers to these don't have to be long, just well thought out, but use as much space as you need. 1. After Impressing, you discover that another Weyrling, who you consider a friend, had gold as their first choice. Through another individual, you find out that they've been complaining about your having Impressed instead, saying that they're more active and a better RPer than you are. Some other players have said the same thing, publicly. How do you deal with this? 2. You graduate from Weyrlinghood and are added to staff and given builder access with relatively free reign, but given no particular tasks to attend to. Where do you start? You step up as Senior, and are responsible for the task of choosing a new Weyrleader. What qualities would you look for, and how would you manage if no person were immediately available with those desired qualities? PART IV: YOUR OPINIONS There are no wrong answers, here. We just want to know what views on goldriding your experiences have given you. Just because your opinions aren't the same as those of the Weyrleaders doesn't mean you won't Impress, it just means that we'll be able to deal with these differences and know how you approach the role. 1. A junior weyrwoman's dragon is the dam of the coming PC clutch, which is expected to include a gold egg. Would you expect her to have discretion over how her dragon's clutch is run, or to participate in SC as any member would? Why? 2. What kind of weekly time commitment do you believe a junior weyrwoman should be able to make to the Weyr? What about the Senior Weyrwoman? Where do you believe other characters and RL activities should fall among their priorities, and how should they handle conflicts between them? 3. Do you believe that a goldrider should leave a private scene for public RP if it's available? Does this differ if the goldrider is Senior Weyrwoman versus a junior? What if they're specifically asked to join? PART V: CONCLUSION Are there any other comments you would like to make? If you have questions, you may include them here, but posing them directly to the Weyrleaders will probably result in a quicker response.
